Deck Removal & Rebuild in Buffalo, NY

Sometimes the honest answer is that a deck has to come down before anything new goes up. We handle full tear-out and haul-away, check whether the old footings meet current frost-depth code, and build a new frame sized for today’s snow loads, often finishing the whole project within the same week.

What’s included

Every job starts with a design or assessment visit and ends with a clean, cleared-up yard. In between: permits pulled where needed, inspections passed, and work we photograph for your records.

Full tear-out & haul-away

Old decking, framing, and debris removed and disposed of.

Footing assessment

We check whether existing footings meet current frost-depth code before reusing them.

New frost-depth footings

Poured below the 48" frost line where the old ones fall short.

Snow-load engineered framing

A new frame sized for lake-effect accumulation, not the old deck’s spec.

Permits & inspections handled

We file with your town and meet the inspector.

Frame photo album + cleanup

Photos of the new frame, and a yard cleared of the old deck’s debris.

Deck Removal & Rebuild FAQs

Do I need a permit?

Almost always in Erie and Niagara counties, for any deck over 18 inches high or attached to the house. We file it, pay it (it’s in the quote), and meet the inspector.

Can you build in winter?

Yes. Footings are the only weather-sensitive step, and we auger and pour below frost depth year-round. Winter slots are often the fastest way onto our schedule.

What warranty comes with the work?

10 years on workmanship for new builds, 2 years on repairs, plus manufacturer warranties on boards, up to 50 years on some composites. Both in writing with the quote.

Composite or wood, what do most people pick?

About 60% of our builds are composite now. It costs 30 to 40 percent more up front and roughly nothing after. We’ll quote both so the math is yours.
