Covered Porches & Roofs in Buffalo, NY

A covered porch roof earns real shelter, not just shade, when it’s engineered for lake-effect snow instead of a fair-weather kit. We size posts and rafters for actual accumulation, flash the roof-to-house tie-in with the same care we give a deck ledger, and plan gutters and drainage so water goes away from your porch floor and foundation, not onto it.

What’s included

Every job starts with a design or assessment visit and ends with a clean, cleared-up yard. In between: permits pulled where needed, inspections passed, and work we photograph for your records.

Design visit & layout

We talk roof style, sightlines, and how it ties into your existing roofline.

Snow-load engineered posts & rafters

Sized for lake-effect accumulation, not a catalog minimum.

Proper roof-to-house flashing

The tie-in point gets the same careful flashing as a deck ledger.

Permits & inspections handled

We file with your town and meet the inspector.

Frost-depth footings (48")

Same standard as every structure we build.

Gutter & drainage planning

Water directed away from the porch floor and foundation, not onto it.

Covered Porches & Roofs FAQs

Is a porch roof built for our snow load?

It has to be. We size rafters and posts for lake-effect accumulation, not the lighter loads a fair-weather kit is rated for, and we flash the roof-to-house tie-in the same way we flash a deck ledger.

Do I need a permit for a porch?

Yes, in nearly every case. A porch is a structural addition, not cosmetic work. We handle the permit filing and inspection scheduling as part of the job.

What warranty comes with the work?

10 years on workmanship for new builds, 2 years on repairs, plus manufacturer warranties on boards, up to 50 years on some composites. Both in writing with the quote.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Plans from 0% APR for 12 months on approved credit, arranged during the quote visit. Longer terms available for bigger builds.
